RIYADH, 7 May — The latest Canadian sensation to hit the opera scene, Natalie Choquette, will perform for the first time in Saudi Arabia this week.
She will perform in Jeddah tomorrow and in Riyadh for two days on May 12 and 13 before flying off to Germany, where she is scheduled to sing with the famous Symphonic Orchestra of Berlin.
“This famous Canadian has a unique way of provoking tears of laughter by blending humor and opera,” Yves Duval, third secretary at the Canadian Embassy, told Arab News yesterday.
Choquette has been acclaimed all over the world, and received a standing ovation for 30 minutes at the Graz Opera House, Vienna last January.
Her career highlights include more than 300 live shows and TV performances.
