TAIF, 10 May — The wage settlement committee at the Labor Office in Taif has averted an environmental disaster in the city by persuading some 1,400 cleaning workers to go back to work after they walked out in protest at non-payment of salaries and delay in issuing residence permits.
The workers abstained from work for one day.
An official of the municipality attributed the delay in issuing iqamas to regrouping and deployment of the laborers to western and eastern regions of the city.
