JEDDAH, 13 May — The Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) and an Indian trade delegation discussed joint venture prospects in the field of manufacturing and assembling in Saudi Arabia on Saturday.
"We had detailed discussion with JCCI officials about our keen interest in business partnerships and establishing facilities here," V.P. Mahendru, leader of the delegation and president of Indian Electrical and Electronics Manufacturers’ Association told reporters at a presentation he gave later at the Jeddah Trident Hotel.
The delegation also held meetings with Fouad J. Al-Sherebi, president of Saudi Electricity Company, and local businessmen. "We acquainted him and other company officials and the business community with the capabilities of our electrical industry. Our main objective has been to explore the possibilities of supplying quality products at competitive rates," Mahendru said. He said all members of the delegation were manufacturers of equipment and products.
"The companies are all ISO certified and are reputed manufacturers producing quality products," he said, adding that the Indian industry was looking forward to a long-term relationship with its Saudi counterpart. The 10-member delegation, which includes association Secretary General Sunil More, will visit Dammam for two days from today and Riyadh from Wednesday before returning home on Friday.
