RIYADH, 22 May — The Saudi Arabian Public Transport Company (SAPTCO) has refused to sign an agreement with 20 other Saudi transport companies on unifying ticket fares from Riyadh to various international destinations. SAPTCO said the company would not sign the agreement unless the other companies provided a guarantee that they would not back down from the deal once it was signed. Abdullah Al-Fayez, director general of SAPTCO, explained to Arab News that reaching an agreement on unifying fares was difficult because of the presence of a large number of companies, most of them owned by individuals.
