JEDDAH, 23 May — Saudi Arabia and France are conducting military exercises in the Red Sea, Maj. Gen. Dakheelullah ibn Ahmad Al-Waqdani announced yesterday. He said the ten-day exercises will end on May 29. “The exercises are part of the military agreements signed between the two countries,” he told the Saudi Press Agency. Saudi Arabia is taking part in the maneuvers with eight warships, several helicopters and warplanes while France has in the area the aircraft carrier Charles de Gaulle and other warships.
