DAMMAM/JEDDAH, 26 May — Grade 12 students at the International Indian School, Dammam excelled in the examination of the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Delhi, according to the results announced yesterday.

The Grade 10 results will be announced on May 28.

The Kingdomwide comparison of all the Indian international schools shows that the IISD students have done remarkably well and were far ahead of Indian schools of Jeddah and Riyadh.

Although Khalid Noman of the International Indian School, Riyadh topped the Kingdom’s tables with 90.6 percent, Dammam students excelled in the overall performance.

The aggregate showed that the success percentage of the IISD was much higher than that of Riyadh and Jeddah schools.

A total of 187 students appeared from the IISD, out of which only one student failed and nine were listed in the compartmental list.

The over all topper was Aditya Krishna Das of the Science stream with 89.6 percent. He was followed by Riju Thomas George with 89.4 percent and Ankit Jain with 87.2 percent.

No female student made the first three in the science stream.

In the Commerce stream Thansheed M. Abdul stood first with 85.8 percent followed by Saurabh Tewari 84 percent. Aisha Sayed and Robin Jospeh Baby with 83.2 percent shared third position.

In the International Indian School, Riyadh (IISR), 162 students appeared. Out of that eight students failed, while 15 were listed in the compartmental list.

IISD Principal Muhammad Anwar expressed his satisfaction over the results. He also praised the teachers of the school for their hard work and dedication. The chairman of the school managing committee, Dr. S.V.R. Rao, congratulated the students, principal and teachers for the excellent results.

In the International Indian School, Jeddah (IISJ), for the third year in a row, girls continued to outshine boys in the Grade 12 examination.

Of the total 206 students who appeared for the examination (125 girls and 81 boys), 114 achieved first class, out of whom 79 were girls and 35 boys.

The overall pass percentage this year is 82.9 percent, which is comparatively better than last year’s 74.5 percent, said IISJ Director Brig. Iqbal Siddiqui. He expressed satisfaction over the result and gave teachers the credit.

Interestingly, girls captured all four top positions, with Pooja Arya emerging as the topper with 87.6 percent followed by Shamna Sanam 86.2 percent, Johra and Shyma Abeer with 84.2 percent and Farah Tasneem with 83.6 percent.

Top place among the boys was taken by Abdul Rehman Khalid with 82.2 percent.
