JEDDAH, 8 June — The Health Affairs Directorate in the Eastern Province has revoked the licenses of three drug stores in Dammam, Okaz reported yesterday. Licenses of three other drug stores have been suspended temporarily.
These pharmacies were found to be operating without qualified pharmacists. They were also found to have transfered ownership without the prior permission from the licensing authorities, said Ahmad ibn Abdullah Al-Ali, director general of the health affairs in the region.
He said the shops were negligence in opening the medical shop even after the licenses were issued to them. Al-Ali also clarified that the pricing of medications sold at the medical stores was the joint responsibility of the Ministry of Commerce and Health.
