RIYADH, 9 June — The traffic department has warned vehicle owners in the Kingdom to abide by the regulations governing how they shade their windows.
The shading of the front glass and the side windows in the front seat is prohibited. However, the rear side glasses can be shaded while the rear glass can be shaded lightly so that it does not prevent the driver viewing behind the car.
The punishments for the violation of the regulations will be maximum fine stipulated in the traffic regulations and removal of the shading if the offense is committed the first time. If repeated a second time the punishment will be one week’s confiscation of the vehicle and the maximum fine. If the offense is discovered a third time the confiscation of the car will for one month in addition to the maximum fine.
Meanwhile, the Interior Ministry has announced that a foreign vehicle without third-party insurance will not allowed to enter or pass through the Kingdom.
