JEDDAH, 13 June — Organizers who offered the “Bolshoi on ice” event during the Jeddah Summer Festival last year are offering a new “Big Top” event for this year’s upcoming season.

Work has begun on a plot of land opposite Al-Azizia Panda Supermarket at Al-Andalus Street for entertaining the public during JSF ’23, scheduled from June 20 to July 26.

Busy on the site are a number of Saudi contractors and service companies as well as a staff of 25 young Saudi men revealing how the organizers, Moumena Entertainment Co., are committed to engaging and training Saudi youths.

“Presented under a spacious and air-conditioned big tent of 3,000 spectator capacity, the event will be a star attraction for both children and adults with its 12 stunning acts put up by a group of high class international artists,” Mohammed A. Moumena, general manager of Moumena Entertainment, a leading Saudi company in the field of family entertainment projects, told a press conference at the Jeddah Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Monday night.

The event includes a variety of dazzling acts presented for the first time in the Middle East, ranging from acrobatics to shows with dangerous wild animals like crocodiles, alligators, pythons and dogs. All acts will be presented with special light and sound effects and orchestrated by a specialized team of British engineers.

The daily performances, at 9 p.m. from Sunday through Tuesday, and at 7.30 p.m. and 10.30 p.m. from Wednesday through Friday, “have been customized to comply with the Saudi and Arabic traditions,” he added.

With its partner Phillip Gandey World Class Entertainment of the UK, Moumena Entertainment has widely opened the region’s entertainment market, creating a high standard for a generation of customized international shows suiting local traditions and tastes. “All previous venues were specially adapted for various types of audiences and were hugely successful, such as the Bolshoi on Ice in Bahrain and Jeddah, and Pinocchio on Ice in Beirut, last year,” he said.
