WANDOOR, Kerala, 21 June — An auditorium-cum-classroom at the Wandoor VMC Government Higher Secondary School, one of the oldest institutions in the Malappuram district of Kerala, will be opened by A.P. Anil Kumar, MLA, in the presence of advocate M. Ummer, Malappuram district panchayat president, on Sunday. The newly formed VMC Alumni Association launched the project, which was financed by the Jeddah-based Johnson & Johnson company where Muhammad Shafi, a teacher in the school, worked as its administration manager till March 2000. Shafi is now closely associated with the VMCAA. Association’s cash awards and trophies will be distributed to three top ranking students in the last SSLC examination, one from each of three panchayat schools.
