Why do some private institutions in the Kingdom insist on inviting non-Saudi Arabs to preach and educate our youth who have been raised in an environment of religious purity not found anywhere?
In this country you will not find bars selling liquor. You will not see people encouraging others to commit acts of indecency in public and you never see two people kissing each other passionately in public. All of these take place in other Arab countries and yet despite the fact, some Saudi establishments bring Arab preachers from those places to reform our young people.
Have they forgotten that these youth live in a conservative environment — an environment with a large number of preachers, many of whom are also well known scholars? Those same Saudi establishments even invite young and inexperienced preachers to an environment known for resisting trends that are in opposition to Shariah.
Saudi Arabia is the birthplace of Islam. It has been greatly blessed and honored by having the two holy mosques in Makkah and Madinah which are the focal points for millions of Muslims the world over. Despite all this, why has the Kingdom not assumed a leading position in sending preachers abroad to educate Muslims instead of importing them?
Had our preachers gone abroad, they might well have gained international fame just as many non-Saudis have managed to.
How has it happened that places which are not as pure and clean as we are and where moral and religious deviations have developed are exporting preachers to us?
