RIYADH, 24 September — Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC) has signed a contract with Takreer, an affiliate of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), to supply 200,000 metric tons of Methyl Tertiary Butyl Ether (MTBE). This will be used to produce unleaded gasoline in the United Arab Emirates. SABIC had earlier won a contract to supply 70,000 metric tons of MTBE to the UAE. SABIC is one of the largest producers of MTBE in the world, producing 2.8 million metric tons per annum from three of its affiliates in Jubail -- Ibn Zahr, Sadaf and Ibn Sina.
