RIYADH, 2 October — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Fahd yesterday accepted the retirement request of Gen. Saleh ibn Taha Khosaifan, director general of the general investigation department.
"The service of Gen. Saleh Khosaifan as director general of investigation will be terminated and he will be retired on his request," a royal decree said.
Khosaifan was appointed adviser at the Royal Court with ministerial rank on the recommendation of Prince Abdullah, the regent.
King Fahd also sent a message to Interior Minister Prince Naif, informing him of Khosaifan’s new appointment. Khosaifan will continue to work with Prince Naif.
Khosaifan worked in the investigation department for 38 years.
The department is a sensitive security apparatus dealing directly with the most complicated issues, especially those related to national security.
