JEDDAH, 10 October — The salary problem at King Faisal Specialist Hospital in Jeddah will be solved within three months, according to Makkah Governor Prince Abdul Majeed.
"The problem of delay in salaries at the hospital will end when the government announces its new general budget," the governor said after visiting the hospital on Tuesday.
"The delay in salaries will not be repeated as the government extends its full support to the hospital," the prince told reporters. He commended hospital staff for the patience they showed during the salary crisis over the past months.
Prince Abdul Majeed also commended the hospital’s doctors and paramedical staff for their great services, which helped the organization win an international prize.
The hospital has received 99.4 rating from the Joint Commission International Accreditation of the United States.
Last year, a hospital circular said the delay in salary payment was to continue until the end of this year.
The circular, however, assured the hospital’s 1,800 employees that they would be paid their full salaries.
"Beginning next year, a more stable cash flow is expected, thereby assuring timely payroll disbursement," the circular said. The hospital requires SR22 million to pay its 1,800 employees.
Meanwhile, Prince Abdul Majeed chaired a joint meeting of the Makkah Provincial Council and local development bodies in the holy city yesterday.
The governor also inaugurated Prince Abdullah Institute for Training Saudi Graduates in Aziziya.
