JEDDAH, 31 October — Makkah Governor Prince Abdul Majeed yesterday announced plans to establish a major international stadium in Jeddah, which can accommodate 100,000 spectators. The stadium will be designed in the shape of a ship, he said. Its location will be made public shortly. The governor said changes will be made in certain intersections in Jeddah to reduce traffic congestion. He also disclosed that work on Prince Abdullah Bridge crossing King Fahd Street will start on Wednesday. He said the project was expected to help the smooth flow of traffic in the city, especially during the peak hours.
