RIYADH, 5 November — The Supreme Judiciary Council has called upon Muslims to look for the new moon today in order to determine the start of the fasting month of Ramadan. The council confirmed that nobody had sighted the Ramadan moon last evening. It said: “As the start of the month of Shaaban on Monday (Oct. 7) was decided without a clear sighting of the moon, the council will meet again today to confirm the sighting of the moon.” If the moon is sighted today, Ramadan will begin tomorrow (Wednesday).
