JEDDAH, 17 November 2002 — Seven elderly Asian and African pilgrims have died of exhaustion and heart troubles in Makkah, Okaz newspaper reported yesterday. The daily quoted medical sources as saying the seven who died on Friday were aged between 75 and 83 years and were performing Umrah. More than one million people attended prayers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah on Friday, the second week of Ramadan.
