WASHINGTON, 1 December 2002 — Saudi Ambassador to the United States Prince Bandar ibn Sultan has highlighted the existing close and effective cooperation between the Kingdom and the US in combating terrorism. He noted that the directives of the Saudi leadership in this respect are very clear, and said the Saudi leadership is keen on enhancing cooperation with the US in combating terrorism and taking all required measures in this respect. Meanwhile, Prince Bandar denied what the New York Times published in its Nov. 27 issue while quoting him, on the details of the arrest of Abd Al-Rahim Al-Nashiri. The newspaper reported that a senior Saudi official, accompanied by a senior Yemeni officer, followed Nashiri last February at one of the streets of Sanaa. Prince Bandar expressed satisfaction over the existing security cooperation between the Kingdom and Yemen. Nashiri has been described as a mastermind of the American Embassy bombing in Africa in 1998. (SPA)
