JENIN, 17 December 2002 — Marwan Abdul Majeed, undersecretary at the Palestine Authority’s Ministry of Public Works and Housing, said the ministry has drawn up plans to build 600 houses to be financed by the Saudi Committee for the Support of Al-Quds Intifada, according to a report of the Palestine News Agency yesterday.

The report said the committee has undertaken to construct 400 houses in the West Bank and 200 houses in Gaza on the orders of Interior Minister Prince Naif who is also the supervisor general of the committee. The Palestinian ministry will launch construction works at Jenin which is the worst affected by the Israeli army’s demolition policy. The residential units will be named after Prince Naif.
