A few weeks ago I watched a program on CNN about a new system being applied in Moscow, the capital of the Russian Federation.
It seems that the police department in Moscow (for a suitable fee) will issue a person with a set of blue flashing lights similar to those fitted on police cars or ambulances. These blue lights give the person owning them the right to ignore any and all traffic laws with complete impunity. Red light? No parking area? One-way traffic?
No problem. Just flash your blue light and away you go.
A while back I suggested a similar idea to our own police department in one of my articles. I suggested that they issue gold license plates similar to the green ones issued to diplomats. But these would be given (for a suitable fee, of course) to those individuals who are considered or consider themselves to be VIPs and to wealthy people who do not wish to be bothered by such tedious and silly things as traffic laws.
The Russian system, however, is a far more elegant solution. This is not surprising seeing as Russia was once a superpower, and this idea clearly demonstrates its glorious imperialist past.
It is not reasonable to expect very wealthy people or VIPs to abide by laws and regulations that apply to common folk. These VIPs carry enormous responsibility on their shoulders and are constantly pondering deep and weighty problems.
Even their children, despite their youth and inexperience, display through their very expensive sports cars the certainty that they will soon be following daddy in these weighty pursuits!
Seeing, however, as we are a pious and deeply religious society who proudly proclaim our Islamic credentials to all who will listen, I humbly suggest to our police department to replace the blue lights used by the Russians with brilliant green ones suitable for our Islamic country and society.
