RIYADH, 6 November 2003 — Authorities have seized 287 kilograms of hashish in the Najran region, the area’s police chief said yesterday.

“The counter-drug unit in Sharura province (in Najran) foiled an attempt to sell 287 kilograms of hashish,” said Gen. Suleiman ibn Ali Al-Khlewi, quoted by the Saudi Press Agency.

He did not say when the drugs were seized or if any traffickers had been arrested.
