The King Abdul Aziz Historical Center in Riyadh has been established as a cultural center for the city representing both the rich history of the Arabian Peninsula, and the eternal message of Islam.
The center sheds light on the creation of the Kingdom, its historic role, its principles and the efforts exerted in its continuous development.
The National Museum is located on the eastern side of the Center. Built with a focus on traditional materials and historical architectural themes, the museum harmonizes elegantly with the historical center.
The museum spares no effort in collecting, restoring, and registering archeological and historic objects, which it exhibits in eight different halls to promote the history, culture, traditions, and diversity of the Arabian Peninsula. In addition, the museum utilizes a variety of educational aids to facilitate learning such as archaeological objects, documents, manuscripts and graphic displays. Audiovisuals include documentary films and simulations of historical events.
