JEDDAH, 27 November 2003 — The Saudi Telecom Company said more than 26 million Eid greetings were exchanged through its SMS network on the eve of Eid Al-Fitr, much higher than any number of messages exchanged in previous years. Company officials were quoted by Al-Eqtisadiah as saying the network continued to function without problems despite the pressure on its capacity. But customers report service has been severely limited in the Kingdom’s cities.
