JEDDAH, 2 May 2004 — A Saudi attempted to dry his mobile phone after it had fallen into a swimming pool, reported Al-Madinah. He tried to dry the phone in a microwave, apparently forgetting that metal objects should not be heated in a microwave. Fortunately both mobile and microwave malfunctioned and so avoided what could have been an explosive experience.
