MANAMA, 19 July 2004 — Arab Insurance Group (ARIG) yesterday announced its half-year results and plans for increasing capital by a rights issue. The group has reported a continued rise in its net profits, registering $12.2 million for the first six months of 2004 as compared to $7.6 million for the full year 2003. Underwriting profits increased to $5.8 million for the first half year 2004 as compared to $2.4 million for the same period in 2003 and $9.8 million for the year 2003.
