RIYADH, 9 August 2004 — Osmania University’s distance learning program will be launched here early next year for the benefit of Indian expatriates.

This was announced at a press conference by Mohammad Quaiser, president of the newly formed Osmania University Old Boys NRI Association.

The association will be formally inaugurated by Professor Anantha Swamy, vice chancellor of Osmania University which is based in the south Indian city of Hyderabad. Other guests of honor will include Zahid Ali Khan and Khan Abdul Lateef Khan, editors respectively of Siyasat and Munsif, two leading Urdu dailies of Hyderabad.

Quaiser said the distance learning program, conducted both through Internet and correspondence, will offer courses in arts, science, business administration and IT. Exams will be conducted at the International Indian School Riyadh.
