JEDDAH, 2 September 2004 — A Saudi living in the city of Jizan, who had never subscribed to either a mobile phone or land phone, had the shock of his life when he received a mobile phone bill from Saudi Telecom Company asking him to pay SR18,408, report said. Isa Muhammad Qasim said the bill was in the name of his father, who also had never owned a mobile phone. “I took my father to the company’s office and tried to convince them that the bill was a mistake, but the STC insisted my father must pay the bill.”
