JEDDAH, 7 September 2004 — Pakistani Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz arrived here yesterday on a three-day official visit to Saudi Arabia.
He is accompanied by a 19-member delegation including four ministers, three ministers of state and one provincial chief minister.
Aziz was received by Makkah Governor Prince Abdul Majeed at the King Abdul Aziz International Airport.
Delegates accompanying him are Minister for Housing and Works Syed Safwanullah, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Minister of Interior Aftab Ahmed Khan Sherpao, and Minister for Population Welfare Chaudhry Shehbaz Hussain.
Ministers for state M. Naseer Mengal, Tariq Azeem and Hamid Yar Hiraj as well as Chief Minister of Sindh Arab Ghulam Rahim are also accompanying the prime minister.
During the visit, Aziz will call on Saudi leadership and also address a community meeting in Jeddah.
After performing Umrah, he will visit the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
It is Aziz’s first visit to Saudi Arabia since he was sworn in as the country’s prime minister by President Pervez Musharraf last month.
