Logitech has brought to market two new specially designed mice for the growing number of young computer users — the Logitech Ladybug Mouse and the Logitech Football Mouse. At about two-thirds the size of a typical mouse, these lively new mice are perfectly suited for smaller hands.

“Kids today are incredibly savvy about computers — but they need the tools to help them navigate more effectively,” said Ashish Arora, Logitech director of product marketing, Retail Pointing Devices. “The smaller size of these new mice will make it easier for kids to use a computer — and these designs will make the experience more personal and fun. We looked at several design options and tested many with children, and the ladybug and football really resonated. Kids may not have their own PC, but with a personal, right-size mouse, the experience is truly their own.”

The Logitech Football Mouse and the Logitech Ladybug Mouse use optical technology. With no ball to collect dirt and grime from little hands, the mouse works flawlessly on most surfaces, even without a mouse pad. The mice work immediately when plugged into any USB-based system. On computers shared by children and their parents, USB makes it easy to switch with another mouse — or, if the PC has multiple USB ports, both mice can remain plugged in. Software is provided with the Logitech Ladybug Mouse and Logitech Football Mouse for those who want to customize the functions of clicking the scroll wheel and left and right buttons. The new Logitech mice retail for under $20.
