MADINAH, 8 September 2004 — A Saudi husband fainted when his wife suddenly began screaming after she received news of her formal employment, Al-Watan reported. The Saudi woman had waited seven long years for the formal appointment and screamed out of sheer joy when she read her name on the list of appointed employees in a local newspaper. Her noisy burst of enthusiasm knocked her husband out of his deep sleep and so shocked was the man that he passed out instantly. “Though I was jumping with joy, I sprinkled water on my husband so I could explain my screams and joyful actions,” the wife said. Upon regaining consciousness the husband commented: “Sure, the news is worth rejoicing but it doesn’t call for screaming that jolts one out of his sleep and blows him out of consciousness!”
