DHAKA, 9 September 2004 — The body of Saudi national Musahid Abdullah Zahran, drowned on Sept. 1 while taking bath in the sea at Cox’s Bazar, Chittagong, was recovered from Moheshkhali Island yesterday, officials told Arab News.
Cox’s Bazaar district police superintendent said the body would be flown to Saudi Arabia.
Zahran’s two brothers now in Cox’s Bazar had announced a reward of 100,000 taka for locating their missing brother.
The two brothers, Muhammad Abdullah Al-Zahran and Jomayan Abdullah Al-Zahran, came to Bangladesh to locate their brother and would now take back his body home, sources said yesterday.
Zahran was taking photographs while bathing with his Bangladeshi friends when a wave swept him off. The Saudi had come to Bangladesh with Imran Hossain of Shariakandi in the Bogra district. Imran has been working in Saudi Arabia for nine years in a shop owned by Zahran’s wife.
