JEDDAH, 10 September 2004 — A car belonging to the Al-Khurma governorate came under gunfire early yesterday in front of the mayor’s house. The front portion of the house was also hit.
Four suspects were arrested for questioning immediately after the incident. Police were still examining evidence to determine the type of weapon used in the attack which occurred at Al-Khurma, 300 kilometers east of Makkah.
Interior Ministry sources said the attack must have been the result of personal vendetta.
