JIZAN, 22 September 2004 — An unknown gang of robbers in Al-Daier province in Jizan is going about disguised as police and committing crimes and armed burglaries, Al-Riyadh reported.
The gang is breaking into stores and car shops, attacking foreign residents and extorting money at gunpoint.
A Saudi citizen, Khaled Al-Malki, said the gang stopped an expatriate and stole SR400 from him. The gang members were disguised as border guards.
Al-Malki told Al-Riyadh that the gang broke into the house of his carshop worker and robbed SR10,000 and they asked the worker to visit the police station to collect the money later. He said his other workers also faced a similar problem.
