RIYADH, 26 September 2004 — Not athletes but computer graduates will vie for honors in the first-ever Information Technology (IT) competition to be held on Oct. 1, 2004 at Riyadh International School in Suleimania District.
Dubbed IT Olympics, the competition aims “to promote camaraderie, cooperative competition, unity and creativity as students apply the knowledge and skills gained from the respective clusters,” said a press release issued by the group.
The competition, with the theme “The Convergence of the Minds and Information Technology,” is a pre-graduation activity for the students of IT seminars sponsored by Comsofil.
Event competitions include on-the-spot PC assembly, creative webpage design, networking, office productivity, programming, graphic illustration, and auto CAD.
“The IT intellectual prowess of the competitors will also be challenged through ITQ Challenge,” the organizers announced.
Mini-seminars will also be conducted by “valued partners” of Comsofil where the sponsors’ products and services will be featured.
