AMMAN, 11 October 2004 — Jordanian Planning Minister Bassem Awadallah announced yesterday that his country would host the fifth conference for Iraq reconstruction donors in March. “During the fourth Iraq reconstruction conference scheduled for Oct. 13-14 in Tokyo, Jordan will be declared as host for the fifth meeting of Iraq donors in March 2005,” Awadallah said after talks with his Iraqi counterpart Mehdi Hafez. He pointed out that the step would be part of “Jordan’s help to the Iraqi brethren to enable them restore stability and rebuild their economic and political institutions”.
