RIYADH, 13 October 2004 — Crown Prince Abdullah yesterday honored 17 Saudi university professors, who have won patents in various branches of science and technology. The crown prince presented them with King Abdul Aziz Medal of the First Order.
The patents covered such areas as chemical, civil, petroleum, computer and aviation engineering, physics, physio-chemistry, petro-chemistry and medicine.
“I am immensely pleased by your achievements and we hope others will follow your example,” the crown prince told the professors from King Saud University in Riyadh, King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals in Dhahran and King Abdul Aziz University in Jeddah.
Higher Education Minister Khaled Al-Anqari and presidents of the three universities attended the ceremony. Anqari said the patents achieved by the professors had contributed to developing the Kingdom’s oil and petrochemical industries.
