MANAMA, 20 December 2004 — The US-Bahrain Free Trade Agreement will be discussed during the GCC summit, Bahrain’s Information Minister Nabeel Al-Hamer told Arab News.

“It will be discussed thoroughly by the leaders of the six nations,” he said.

Gulf foreign ministers yesterday concluded its final meeting ahead of the summit. The ministers reached an agreement over issues to be discussed at the summit.

“We have reached an agreement over topics to be discussed by the leaders of the Gulf nations in the summit,” said Bahraini Foreign Minister Sheikh Muhammad bin Mubarak Al-Khalifa.

His statement comes after the foreign ministers held the meeting in Manama.

“The closed meeting discussed several issues including economic issues,” he said. “We have reached an agreement, there is no conflict between any nations.”

“The other issues on the agenda include the Middle East conflict and the Iraqi crisis,” he said.
