ZAMBOANGA CITY, 29 December 2004 — A kidnapped Filipino-Chinese car dealer was found dead on a village in the southern Philippine province of Maguindanao, an army spokesman said yesterday. Maj. Bartolome Bacarro said the remains of Norman Sia was recovered on Monday after informants led soldiers to a tunnel in Serafan village in Datu Odin Sinsuat town. Sia’s family identified the remains through dental records, Bacarro said, quoting field reports. “Soldiers recovered the complete remains of Norman Sia inside the tunnel where his body was dumped by the kidnappers. He was shot to death,” Bacarro told Arab News. The 24-year old Sia was kidnapped in December 2003 by unidentified men who posed as car buyers in Cotabato City. No group owned up to the killing.
