JEDDAH, 31 December 2004 — Experts from various fields spoke on a variety of career opportunities at a career guidance seminar held at the International Indian School-Jeddah (IISJ) last week.
Ashok Kumar, consul (commercial) at the Consulate General of India, appreciated the efforts of the school in guiding the students in their search for career opportunities.
“Such guidance programs can also be organized with special stress on career plans exclusively for girls to enhance their status in society,” said Kumar, who also released a brochure on career planning compiled by the school’s career guidance cell.
Trident Hotel General Manager Chander Nain spoke on the hospitality industry, Mahmood Ahmad, branch development manager at Arabian Shield Insurance Company, elaborated on the scope of insurance industry in the present scenario, and Siraj Wahab of Arab News gave a presentation on journalism and mass communication.
Ravish Tatli and Nadeem Bhamla spoke on the scope of chartered accountancy, and on various courses available in India and abroad supporting this field of study. Students of Class 9-12 from both boys and girls sections and parents attended the seminar.
