The Guhit Pinoy Foundation recently sponsored an inter-school drawing competition to showcase the talents and creative skills of several hundred students. A number of students from the IPSJ, Sunrise International School, Al-Badr International School and Al-Hekma International School competed for trophies and other valuable prizes.
The students demonstrated their skills on the theme of “The Colors of Life.” The competition aimed to inspire and motivate students using their imagination and creativity in order to produce colorful works of art that expressed their thoughts, skills, and ideas. “It was such a colorful and goodnatured event,” remarked David S. Wixey, a Jeddahbased creative consultant. “It allowed budding artists to really let rip with their medium. The winners showed remarkable verve and imagination in their subject, line work and rendering of color.”
Present at the exhibition were Philippine Vice Consul Jose V. Jacob, Filipino Channel executives, Jet Gonzalez and Tony Tantuan, and David S. Wixey.
The event is an annual competition by The Guhit Pinoy Foundation as a continuing commitment to discover students’ artistic talents.
IPSJ board of trustees, parents, friends and companies supported the program. Among these are Nestle, Taishan Insurance, Pepsi Cola Bottlers, Papa John’s Pizza, Gano Excel, Nivea, McDonalds, Delta Water, Binzager Coro, Gandour, Aujan Industries, Merex Forwarders, Rabea Tea, Bag-ong Bicol Saro nin Jeddah, and The Filipino Channel.
