JEDDAH, 4 January 2005 — Mohammed Al-Sahlawy, head of the Human Resources and Development Fund, has launched a new training program for job seekers, according to Al-Yaum newspaper.
Under the program job seekers in various fields will be trained in any of the 35 institutions that have been assigned the task.
Hisham Linjawy, Human Recources and Development Fund manger, said, “The training program aims to teach and qualify job seekers with new skills, knowledge, and behavior. Various major topics are taught such as work ethics, job search technologies, resume writing and preparing for interviews.” Training will also cover effective communication, the rights and duties of an employer, and discovering one’s capacities and potentials.
The new program seeks to build a bridge of communication between private businesses and job seekers. The private sector in the Kingdom requires high work quality and ethics. Therefore, the Human Resources and Development Fund chose such institutions that are eminently suitable to instill such values in the trainees. Both private training centers and social services institutions cooperated in implementing the program.
“The role of the Fund is to recommend the trainees and give them a chance to work for the private sector,” said Linjawy. Bridging the gap between job seekers and businesses is the prime motive, he added.
The program, to be executed by 286 Saudi trainers, will last for nine days. It is conducted initially in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam and will be extended to the rest of the Kingdom after Eid Al-Adha.
