DAMMAM, 11 February 2005 — A master’s degree student collapsed after suffering a nervous breakdown when she discovered that a data entry operator had accidentally ruined her thesis papers, thus wasting years of her efforts, Al-Madinah reported. The student of special education department had finished her first draft of the thesis she hand written. The university wanted her to have it typed on a computer before they specified a date to discuss the thesis. She took her thesis to a computer center to have more than 200 pages typed. Two weeks later, when she visited the center to collect the printouts, she discovered that it was closed and the expatriate employee who was supposed to type her thesis had been arrested on forgery charges. Before he was arrested, he had destroyed many documents in his office including her thesis which she had taken 2 years to prepare. The student, who suffered an instant nervous breakdown, was taken to hospital for treatment.
