JEDDAH, 21 August 2005 — InterContinental Hotels Group organized a development center called “Pathways” at the Crowne Plaza Jeddah in July, according to a press release received here yesterday. The Pathways Development Program was designed to identify and develop high potential and high value managers from within the company. It provides an opportunity for development and a chance to fulfill participants’ career aspirations.

The program was organized by Pathways Area Directors Anjum Rahim Khan and Mohamed Shahir, and engaged in the development of 8 assessors and 16 participants of which three assessors and six participants were high potential Saudis.

This in itself is a demonstration of commitment by the company to its people and the community, thus promoting InterContinental Hotels Group as an “employer of choice” among young and dynamic Saudis. Participants were selected from assistant department heads and outlet manager levels within the company if they had the potential to move up two levels within three to five years.

Bander M. Harbi, director of operations InterContinental Hotels Group Saudi West, said, “The objective of Pathways Development Center is to identify and capitalize on the potential participants’ ability to grow within the organization - either within a brand or cross brand.”

InterContinental Hotels Group operates 21 hotels in Saudi Arabia including InterContinental Hotels & Resorts, Crowne Plaza Hotels and Holiday Inn Hotels.
