The missing item of clothing was reportedly a 10-riyal skullcap, which the drycleaner had even offered to pay for. Call this one a case of indignant overkill.
Maids Clean House ... of Furnishings
RIYADH, 1 September 2006 — A Saudi man here returned from vacation to discover that his two maids had decided to leave the country, along with an estimated SR20,000 worth of the man’s house furnishings, the Al-Jazirah daily reported yesterday. After filing a complaint with authorities, the man learned that the maids had organized, during his absence, to ship his belonging back to their home country, which was not disclosed. Then the two women turned themselves into authorities claiming undocumented status. They were deported, reunited with family and the bounty of their theft.
