JEDDAH, 1 May 2006 — Addressing a press conference in Tehran recently, Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinajad described Israel as an illegal entity that does not deserve to exist. He also urged Jewish immigrants in Israel to return to their respective countries.

“Open this large jail (Israel) and allow its people to determine their future. You will then see these people leaving Israel on their own to their countries of origin,” he was quoted as saying.

Ahmadinajad also repeated his statement that Europe was responsible for the creation of the State of Israel. “You have created this problem so the solution is in your hands,” he said.

The Iranian president had forgotten to mention some other significant facts. There are nearly six million Palestinians living as refugees around the world for more than half a century. At the same time, Israel brings hundreds of thousands of Jews from different countries to resettle them in Palestinian territories.

Neither the Israelis nor the Europeans would be happy to hear these facts and statistics, because they think that the occupation of Palestine and displacement of its people is a closed chapter. This has been the case for the last 60 years.

But now they are reopening the whole issue. This is the only explanation for the demand from Israel and its Western supporters that the Hamas government recognize Israel. Nobody knows the borders of Israel as it presently occupies lands of three neighboring Arab countries.

The international community also urges Hamas to recognize and abide by all peace treaties signed between Israel and Palestinians after the Madrid conference. Nobody wants to be reminded that these treaties and agreements have been rejected by Israel. Another major demand is that Hamas should shun terrorism, something the State of Israel practices day and night.

In the midst of a terrorizing campaign against Iran and ethnic cleansing of the Palestinian people by the Zionist state continuing, Israel is busy manufacturing advanced and high-tech weapons with the support of American companies such as Boeing.

They are now working hard to strengthen Israel’s missile defense systems to protect its territories from long- and short-range missiles. It is also in the process of setting up Patriot anti-missile systems in order to strengthen Israel’s capabilities to confront ballistic missiles.

The American administration is meanwhile providing legitimacy to Israel’s participation in security operations within the United States. This subject is under consideration on the basis of a proposal submitted by Congressmen Peter King (Republican) and Benny Thomson (Democrat) to the Congress. The proposal calls for the establishment of a joint office inside the US Department of Homeland Security with representatives from Israeli security agencies. The office would be responsible for monitoring entry points including airports.

Israel has already swallowed Jerusalem. But the Arabs and Muslims have totally forgotten all about it despite calls from Muslim religious institutions inside the holy city to liberate Jerusalem. By constructing the separation wall, Israel has occupied more than 50 percent of the West Bank. It also controls all water resources in the occupied territories.

According to an announcement made by Al-Aqsa Foundation for the Reconstruction of Islamic Sanctities, Israel has confiscated 76 mosques in the territories it occupied in 1948. These mosques have been either closed down or demolished while 18 of them have been converted to churches and synagogues and 17 others into warehouses, liquor shops, brothels and cattle sheds.

Few weeks ago, there was a big hue and cry when London Mayor Ken Livingston compared a British Jewish reporter to a Nazi prison guard. Consequently the mayor faced a four-month suspension as a disciplinary action.

Speaking to Radio Israel, Former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres compared the Iranian president to Nazi leader Adolf Hitler and called him a liar who wanted to exterminate the Jewish people. But we did not see any protests or objections or any actions suggested against Peres!!
