JEDDAH, 23 May 2006 — The Ministry of Labor ordered a national company to pay compensation to a Saudi worker who was dismissed without a valid reason, Al-Eqtisadiah newspaper reported yesterday.
The youth complained to the ministry a year ago that the company in Makkah dismissed him on baseless charges such as he was not punctual in his work.
During the hearings, the company could not produce any evidence to prove the charge and the court ordered the company to pay the youth SR120,000 in compensation.
