RIYADH, 19 December 2006 — An Italian restaurant offering a diverse menu with surprising touches of culinary brilliance under the roof of the local Four Seasons Hotel was opened here Sunday night amid great fanfare. This Quattro Restaurant with standards that rival the best of the city is the first of its kind with an unpretentious ambiance and a superb menu, every diner will walk away from this dining experience wanting to come back again.

“Quattro with its diverse Italian menu has evolved as a major product,” said Thomas L. J. Lind, general manager of the local Four Seasons Hotel, while speaking at the opening ceremony. The ceremonial launch, attended by a number of businessmen, diplomats and newsmen, concluded with a raffle draw supported by local Lufthansa-Swiss Airline office. Eslam Fouad, Four Seasons’ sales manager; Karim Keciri, Quattro manager; and Angelo Ciccone, chef, were also present.

Referring to the features of the new restaurant, Lind said that: “Quattro has emerged as a place where one can experience dining in a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. A range of juice and salads compliment some of the finest Italian cuisine at Quattro.” Speaking on this occasion, Chef Ciccone said that Quattro offers Italian cuisine as well as freshly prepared bread and pizza from the open kitchen’s wood-burning oven.

Ciccone said that Quattro’s menu features a range of dishes, nutritionally balanced, healthier, fare and signature creations. The fascinating menu includes poached Canadian lobster and tuna medallion, hazelnut croquant, truffle and clear hen broth, Italian mushrooms, char grilled wild turbot fillet, seasonal baby vegetables, trio of veal, white chocolate mousse and freshly brewed coffee and infused tea.

Asked about the expansion plan of Four Season chain, Lind said that “we are all set to open new hotels in Alexandria, Doha, Manama, Dubai, Beirut and Kuwait besides an additional presence in Saudi Arabia.” “Only in GCC, we will open some five to six hotels within next few years,” said the general manager, adding that the Riyadh-based Four Seasons is one of best hotels with four high-class restaurants.

All 249 rooms including 52 suites of Four Seasons are generously sized, amongst the largest in the city, and offer the latest in communications technology. “Sleek, chic and contemporary in design, rooms are equally suited for relaxation, with mini bar and international satellite television channels,” said Fouad, adding that there are two luxurious spa experiences available to our guests.
