JEDDAH, 30 December 2006 — A Saudi mobile phone dealer has launched a project to enable pilgrims remain connected with their relatives and friends. During Haj, i2’s retail buses have been placed around the holy sites enabling pilgrims to buy Al-Jawal SIM cards, mobile handsets and accessories.
“A first of its kind service, the mobile outlets are ready to provide pilgrims with Al-Jawal services and products,” i2’s Abdul Hamid Al-Sunaid said.
“To avoid incurring huge phone bills and for those who may forget to pack a charger or Bluetooth device, i2’s diverse range of products and services is available,” he added.
Jameel Molhem, general manager marketing, Al-Jawal, said: “Al-Jawal and i2 share the same goal — to offer the Kingdom’s residents and visitors creative packages and services. We are pleased to work with i2 again on their mobile outlets because we believe this campaign is one that will benefit visitors, the tourism industry and the Kingdom.”
