DUBAI, 20 February 2007 — The total brand value of top 25 UAE companies is estimated at AED38 billion, representing over 76 percent of their collective sales revenues in 2005. In the first-ever exercise in the Middle East, a global specialist consultancy has quantified values of the top 25 brands in the UAE. Dubai government-owned airline Emirates tops the coveted list. The brand value of the airline is estimated at AED22.7 billion, followed by Etisalat at AED9.285 billion and Emaar Properties AED5.194 billion.
UK-based Brand Finance, a leading independent brand valuation consultancy dedicated to value-based brand governance, has produced the first ever Business Brand Values Table in the UAE covering a set of 25 leading companies, using publicly available financial information. The valuations are based on the unique Brand Finance methodology of determining the brand strengths and using the “royalty relief” approach, bringing marketing and finance together in the process. The Value Table was unveiled as part of the launch of Brand Finance’s Middle East division, Brand Finance Middle East, at the Dubai Internet City.
“It is high time that companies began to look at how shareholders are benefiting from the ‘brand value’ that their businesses have built over time, as Dubai and the UAE race ahead to become some of the most exciting places for business,” Founder and Managing Director of Brand Finance David Haigh said.
