JEDDAH, 22 February 2007 — A young man in the eastern city of Alkhobar was talked out of trying to sell his kidney by social workers, the daily Al-Watan reported yesterday. A social worker discovered that the man was trying to sell his kidney to get out of debt and reported his situation to case workers who talked him out of the plan, promising to find the man a suitable job to help him pay his debts.
